Do you like to write, tell stories, or keep up to date with the most current news at school? Do you have something to say or new ideas that are ready to be shared? If that is the case, then The Lawrencian is only too happy to welcome you - Lawrence High School's innovative, exciting, student newspaper club!  We begin with open membership and welcome new contributors who are willing and able to develop stories that interest them and are student-oriented. Whatever calls you - whether it be journalism, creative writing, photography, school news, student news, essays, new ideas, or design layout - we look forward to having you as a contributor.
 

Why Join The Lawrencian?

Participating in a school newspaper is not just about writing, but rather,  it's also about establishing a student voice, building community, and learning important skills you can utilize far after your time in high school is over.

As a member of The Lawrencian you will see your articles read by your peers, teachers, and community, gain a sense of confidence and skills in communication and leadership, be part of a creative, diverse team, gain experience for your resume while getting a head start on future writing or media-related careers, and have the chance to explore your interests - sports, entertainment, culture.

Our club is advised by Mr. Foster, a passionate English teacher at Lawrence High School, who utilizes his creative thinking and profound sense of mentorship to guide young and aspiring writers. Under Mr. Foster's guidance, the Lawrencian aims to embark on a journey to inform, entertain and inspire the Lawrence community.
